Our District 10 Summer Rally was held on a beautiful summer's day at the BAWA Leisure Centre in Filton, hosted by The Inner Wheel Club of Clevedon.

Outgoing District Chairman, Pat Dazeley passed the chain of office onto incoming District Chairman, Gill Scott and so the new Inner Wheel year began.

One hundred and ten guests were welcomed by our new District Chairman Gill Scott, mostly Inner Wheel ladies from around the District dressed in their summer finery for the occasion.  A glorious sight to behold. Our guests included Rotary District Governor, Joan Goldsmith, and our guest of honour was Association President Ann Acaster, who lit the Candle of Friendship.

District Chairmen from Inner Wheel Districts 1, 15 and 20 brought Greetings as did Member of Council for District 22, President of Clevedon Yeo Rotary Club Tony Carrington and Chairman of Clevedon Town Council, Judith West.

Then we all settled down to enjoy a superb lunch of Roast Beef with all the trimmings.   After coffee and a short 'comfort break' and it was time for the formalities.

After Apologies, Roll Call and the introduction of present officers, Rotary District Governor Joan Goldsmith brought Greetings from Rotary District 1100.

Guest of Honour, Association President Ann Acaster then gave her Address.  Ann said how honoured she feels to be President of our amazing organisation and will do her best in all she does. She is looking forward to visiting districts across Great Britain and Ireland and to meeting us all.  She hopes that we will meet her in Cardiff for our Annual Association Conference in April 2019.  Inner Wheel has Clubs in over 100 Countries around the world.  Ann is an inspiring speaker, full of enthusiasm for Inner Wheel and said that she was sure everyone would be looking forward to Conference in April.

The vote of thanks was given by Member of Council for District 10, Sherry Phillips.

District Chairman Gill Scott presented Ann with a gift and said she was looking forward to meeting members around the District as and when she makes her Club visits.  Her motto is  'Fellowship,Friendship and FUN'.

Ann Fox, President of Clevedon Inner Wheel thanked everyone for attending and wished us all a safe journey home.

It was a wonderful way to meet old and new friends and spend it at an Inner Wheel Summer Rally.
