HAMBURG ROTARY CONVENTION AND HEALTH PROFESSIONAL MEMBERS
We’re the natural ‘home’ for all Rotarian health professionals. So whatever your health interest, please connect with us
Our presence in Hamburg..
I was proud to say to the Rotarians I met in Hamburg, ‘our Fellowship is the natural home of all health professionals in the family of Rotary’.
Many were delighted that we represent the reality of modern medicine – health professionals working together to offer good care.
The RI Convention in Hamburg once again confirmed to me that Rotary is a global force for good. President Barry Rassin asked Rotarians to proudly uphold our core values of diversity, fellowship, service, leadership and integrity.
Our Fellowship had a number of opportunities to connect with a large number of health professionals at the Convention.
Our booth in the overflow house of friendship was colourful and welcoming. From the displays and publicity materials at the booth it was clear that we combined fellowship with action.
Our annual meeting room was packed. I was proud to report our new initiatives – minigrants, recognition awards, a register of volunteers, an appeal to clubs to look at the needs of their own communities and make use of Rotary volunteers, a programme to reduce road traffic accidents, in addition to our ongoing activities relating to improving maternal and child mortality, linking clinics by Telemedicine and many hands on clinical activities.
The ‘Dine with the Doctors’ event started some years ago has now become a sought-after evening. The elegant settings at the Movenpeck, excellent service and food gave the evening a special glamour. During the dinner we heard about the amazing work by in Cambodia and an invitation by Cees to collaborate with the Rotarian Doctors Fellowship in the Netherlands.
