Welcome to the Rotary Young Carers programme. This programme has proved so popular with Rotary Clubs and Young Carers over the past 4 years we have run it at Blackwell Park that we are extending it for 2016. In the past we have booked 2 trips, allowing 20 young carers to participate on seperate dates.
Following feedack from the various organisations they felt that interacting with other organisations and Young Carers from different areas would be benificial to all. Taking this into consideration the 2016 Rotary Young Carers programme will be run in the 2 tented villages. Brooks Village and Turner Village
The dates for 2016 are confirmed as 15th – 17th August when 50 young carers will be taken on a respite break, 10 from the Coventry Young Carers, 10 from Warwickshire Young Carers, 20 from Solihull Young Carers Associations and 10 from Worcestershire Young Carers
We are looking for sponsorship from Rotary Clubs and other organisations to cover the trips in 2016 and beyond for Young Carers on the Rotary Young Carers residential programme at Blackwell Adventure Park organised by the Rotary Club of Royal Leamington Spa. So that the young carers can be brought together from different organisations
Since 2009 this Young Carers programme has provided over 300 Young Carers with a respite holiday and will continue to provide holidays sponsored by Rotarians, Rotary Clubs and other organisations in our District and further afield

42 Young Carers took part in 2 programmes held at Blackwell Park on 18th – 22nd August 2012 sponsored by Rotary Clubs. 41 Clubs and corporate organisations who have supported this very successful programme for the past 4 years

The programme is self-catering in a tented village where staff and leaders from the Young Carers organisations take charge of the group. The sponsoring Rotary Clubs and Rotarians are very welcome to visit the park during the programme to meet the leaders and the young carers
Urgently needed: Sponsorship is required from Rotary Clubs and other organisations to cover trips in 2016 and beyond for Young Carers on this Rotary Young Carers residential programme at Blackwell Adventure Park
If you are already supporting any young carers organisations with funding, please consider channelling some of your donations through this programme to support this Young Carer’s project. The funds of course eventually end up in the same place at whichever Young Carers HQ. It just goes in a round about way but you have the satisfaction of knowing your sponsorship actually goes direct to supporting the kids and not swallowed up in administartion
Here’s how it works? We raise sponsorship to book the places at Blackwell Adventure Park, the Young Carers organisation fill the places and send an account for the number of places filled. e.g. On the 12th – 14th August 2015 there were 15 young carers aged 8 – 12 from Solihull Young Carers and on the 14th – 16th there were 9 Coventry Young Carers and 10 young carers from Worcestershire Young Carers age 13 – 17 so each organisation sends an account for approx £395 to be paid from the sponsorship funds. The Young Carers organisations settle their individual accounts direct with Blackwell
The Rotary Club of St. Alphege sponsored the 15 young carers from the Solihull Young Carers organisationl and the Rotary Clubs of North Worcester, Leamington 41 Club, the Rotary Club of Royal Leamington and the Rotary Club of Smethwick sponsored the second group
At present many Young Carers organisations use Blackwell to take groups and this initiative will help them to maintain their present programmes to ensure the Young Carers don’t suffer through lack of funding

To sponsor Young Carers for a respite experience at Blackwell Park is just £42.50 per Young Carer for a 3 day, 2 night break and the young carers really do need your support. This is a very worthwhile progamme in the community
Please send your sponsorship of £42.50 per young carer made payable to the Rotary Club of Royal LeamingtonSpa (young carers account) to Rtn John Hughes, 49 The Ridgeway, Astwood Bank, Redditch, Worcestershire, B96 6LU
