The Swanage & Studland Team Ministry, (Anglican)

Part of the Deanery of Purbeck in the Anglican Diocese of Salisbury

The four churches in the Team Ministry work together to serve the local communities and offer fellowship and a variety of worship traditions. Our buildings provide venues for many concerts, social events, meetings and learning programmes as well as for worship and prayer, and each church is open daily for visiting and an opportunity for prayer or reflection.

Whether you are intending to worship with us or to visit to enjoy the peace and sense of our place within the historical and contemporary life of Swanage and Studland, we hope that you will find in your encounter a sense of God’s presence and a personal blessing.

St. Mary the Virgin – (Anglican)

Three Churches one Parish – St Mary’s, All Saints, St Marks

St Mary’s is the historic Parish Church of Swanage; the present building, dating from 1860 and 1901 replaces the medieval building, of which the fourteenth century tower – with its ring of eight bells – is all that remains, though some of the monuments were transferred from the old building. Among the windows, the east window and the Creation window are fine examples from the mid- and late-twentieth century. As well as daily prayers in the chapel and our regular Sunday worship, enriched by a strong choral tradition, there are many concerts and organ recitals during the year, and many visitors come for prayer or a time of quiet each week.
