Following the success of our first Tackling Hunger event on 22nd April 2018, Kenilworth and other Heart of England Rotary Clubs, supported by our Project Partners: Rise Against Hunger, King Henry VIII School and The Trussell Trust, are pleased to announce that we are holding a follow up event on Sunday 7th April 2019.
815 million people in the world don’t get the food they need to live a healthy life
1,182,954 three-day emergency food supplies were given by Trussell Trust to people in crisis in 2016/17
On Sunday 7th April 2019 at King Henry VIII School, Coventry, our Tackling Hunger event will:
bring together 300 volunteers from across the community
pack over 50,000 meals for Rise Against Hunger’s overseas schools feeding programme
support the UK Trussell Trust by collecting foodbank donations
To achieve this, we need to raise £12,500 for the meal pack ingredients and would also like to raise a further £1,000 as a donation to the Trussell Trust.
As at the beginning of February, we have received pledges of £6,455 towards our target.
You can help by volunteering to help pack meals on the day, helping raise money by organising fun events, making a personal donation or by sponsoring the event.
Get involved, please help us make a difference!
