Congratulations to Jenny Birch of Lincoln who has been given the Margarette Golding Award for exceptional community service. She has walked many paths (sometimes with her daughter) to raise thousands of pounds for different charities.
Her boots have walked along the UK Coast to Coast path, Hadrian's Wall, climbed Snowdon plus many more in the UK.
In recent years she has ventured further afield, trekking to Everest base camp, the Annapurna Range in Nepal, Mount Kilimanjaro in Kenya and, the latest, another trek in Nepal.
Each time Jenny says will be the last but her boots start to get itchy again – they don't like being left in a cupboard, prefer to be out and about seeing the sights!
I wonder where she will go next?
Well next was visiting all the mainland RNLI stations in her campervan to raise funds for the RNLI. Her ambition is to visit all the offshore stations as well.
Jenny never ceases to surprise us - she did a skydive for the Stroke Association.
We were all very proud when she was chosen to carry the Opympic Torch.
Keep watching for further installments!!
