Hallam Inner Wheel was charted in 1957 and currently has 15 members, meeting at 6.30 on the last Thursday of the month for a sociable meal at Tapton Masonic Hall, Shore Lane.

We frequently enjoy a speaker and in July and August we visit and eat elsewhere.  This year we are trying daytime meetings in the winter months November, December and January.

We have fun and fellowship fundraising for various charities such as Music and the Deaf, Cavendish Cancer Centre, Deaf Children's Society and Leprosy Mission.  During our monthly Knit and Natter we make things for needy people, which are distributed by the Beverley-based charity, Jacob's Well. We also knit gifts for the local premature baby unit. For several years we have filled "Aquaboxes", which are destined to provide overseas disaster victims with shelter and other necessities of life.

Our speakers have covered such topics as Life in the kitchen of the Dukes of Norfolk, Buffer girls and the cutlery trade, History of the harpsichord and the Old Time Music Hall stars.
