From mid December 2014 to mid February 2015 Leatherhead Rotarians John & Fiona Miles travelled some 17,000 Km within India to visit a total of 31 Eye Hospitals.
During one week in January they were joined by Rotarians from Winchester RC and Babbacombe & St Marychurch RC who saw several of the Rotary Eye Hospitals in West Bengal which they have supported over the years.
To see first hand the difference Rotary is making to the lives of thousands of the poorest in these communities is energising in itself. To experience the extraordinary enthusiasm of Indian Rotarians for such joint projects, plus their generous hospitality, made for a memorable and rewarding trip. Thanks to all concerned.
Rotary really is making a difference!
Below is an extract from the report on this journey. (With apologies for the poor layout!)
