14-02-10: The RYLA programme for achievers from the UK has been reduced to one trip: 23rd - 28th July.
21-01-10: The Young Carers rogramnme for April is now full, places have been sponsored by the Rotary Club of Royal Leamington Spa and the provisional Rotary Club of Alcester Alauna. The Young Carers will be from both areas and co-ordinated by the Warwickshire Young Carers Project.

22-11-09: Seven Young Carer programmes are booked for 2010 during April, July, August and September.
15-10-09: All 7 places on the District 1060 International RYLA programme have been reserved. Countries taking part are USA; Poland: Italy; Czech Republic; Lithuania; Spain; and Turkey
17-09-09: The International RYLA and the UK RYLA pages have been up-dated with the proposed plans for 2010. There will be 2 programmes running 'back-2-back' in 2010, for ages 18 - 23 and includes a RYLA certificate.
The sponsorship cost is £145 per Achiever which is fully inclusive. The RYLA qualifies for the DOE residentail. Rotary Clubs wishing to take part please reserve your places as soon as possible with John on ryla@btinternet.com
09-09-09: 5 Young Carers trips have now been completed, providing a holiday for a total of 31 young carers between the ages of 10 - 16 to enjoy a respite aboard Dream Catcher for a canal experience.
The programme has proved a huge success not only from our Rotary District point of view but from the young carers themselves and our many thanks to the Rotary Clubs of Alcester, Bedworth, Coventry Phoenix, Kenilworth, Royal Leamington Spa and Shipston-on-Stour for sponsoring the trips and to the group leaders and the Carers Associations involved.
The next Dream Catcher programme for Young Carers is being planned and District are looking for additional and/or ongoing sponsorship from Rotarians to enable us to build on the successs so that more groups will enjoy the experience supported by Rotary Clubs in District 1060.
04-08-09: International Rotary Youth Leadership Award:
Students from Czech Republic; Italy; Poland; Turkey and the USA enjoyed the hospitality of the Rotary Clubs of Kenilworth; Meriden and Royal Leamington Spa before enbarking on a 10 day canal trip which took in Stratford-upon-Avon, Birmingham and Worcester. The International trip terminated in Worcester where 6 students from the UK and 1 from Italy sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Alcester; Great Barr Bromwic; Meriden; Kenilworth; Royal Leamington Spa; Rugby and Rugby Dunsmore joined Dream Catcher for the return trip to Rugby.
The International Students were presented with their RYLA awards by Samuel Edgar, President of the Rotary Club of Birmingham and the UK students were presented with their RYLA awards by District Governor, Lorna Beedham at the Copthorne Hotel in Birmingham.
Details of the RYLA programme for 2010 are on this website. The RYLA programme for the UK students is being revised based on feedback from the students. All the RYLA programmes will now be for Achievers over the age of 18.
