Websites for the benefit of The Rotary Foundation.

I am in the process of redesigning this site (originally a Centenary project for the Rotary Club of Conwy), along the principles of the RIBI 'template' system, which allows different clubs to have their own easy-to-use website based upon a standard 'look'.

It is my intention that this template site wil be available to Rotary Clubs, Inner Wheel, Interact, Rotaract , Probus and for 'Rotary-related' sites (for example, fellowships or projects). The logo and link at the top of the page changes automatically according to the type of site..

Clubs/groups/project organisers must agree to make an annual donation of at least $100 (US) direct to the Rotary Foundation for use of the facilities.

This contribution should be in addition to others a Rotary club would usually make.

You can see more about how the scheme works by looking at the tutorials for the RIBI site here (I obviously haven't written them for this site yet) . Many thanks to David Schober at RI for his willingness to help and interest in the project.

I am hoping that we can create a site that is tailored for different languages.

You can see an example of the RIBI template in use on Conwy's page here

This is just some test information to ensure things are working.

The image on the left has been uploaded in the administrator's section. There is a dynamic thumbnail facility, so you can resize pictures on the server and link them to a full size picture - click the thumbnail left. You can upload jpg/jpeg, gif, png images, in addition to swf, mov, avi, mp3, mpeg media formats.

Pdf file; pdf, doc, zip, rtf and xls files can also be uploaded.

The purpose of the template is to enable any Rotary Club to have their own, EASY TO MAINTAIN website.  Technical knowkledge is not required to produce an attractive site - though a little but helps you to 'tweak' things
